KNOWING IS IN THE STILLNESS

“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10

As a couple, we would like to share the power of waiting, of being still in the presence of God and waiting patiently for Him. We’ve been married for many years now, known each other for more than two decades, and out of the many experiences we had , stillness has played a great role. There were areas in our lives when we underwent the test of patience. Those were hard and difficult times. We felt like we did everything yet we had seen no results. Those were moments when we asked God, "when is it going to end?" . Yet in the midst of those all, we knew in our hearts that He has never left us. He was actually carrying us like the footprints in the sand.

Being still and to wait is most of the time hard to do especially if we are expecting big things in our lives to happen now. Typically as humans , we want quick and fast results. We are always in a hurry, we can’t wait. We rush here and there at the speed of our own time. That’s the reason why unacceptable outcomes occur . Then, regrets and frustrations follow.

Being still forces us to think that we are finite and have limitations and that God is infinite - vast, immeasurable and limitless. On that statement, we need to surrender and lift our hands to our Almighty God for He knows what’s best for us. Whatever is going on around us , let us learn how to relax, take a deep breath, wait patiently and be still in His presence. Trust God that even in the midst of storms,we can still enjoy a calm confidence in Him. As we focus solely on Him, we hear His still small voice clearly and closely. Let us know that He is God! He is in control and will make everything right.

So as your world crumbles, your dreams fall apart into small fragments and your life deteriorating with discouragement and failures, remember the Scripture... “Be still and know that I am God.” Elevate your faith - stand still not because of a self-made confidence, not because you are the most composed person in facing difficulties , not because you are the most experienced one, but because you know your God. You know His power and His great love for you. You know that if God is for you, who can be against you? For greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. It is He who will provide your strength, who will supply your needs, who will deliver and comfort you and who will give you hope and a good future. The One who is able to do immeasurably more than all you could ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within you. (Ephesians 3:20)

Know God more and more. Soak in His word and in His presence. He is all powerful Creator of the Universe. He is your refuge, your strong tower and strength, your ever present help in trouble. His hands are mighty, allow Him to hold you. His arms are tender, allow Him to embrace you. He has unconditional love for you, allow Him to save you.

Now, we richly enjoy the blessings that flow in our family. We are blessed to be a blessing. All the waiting was worth it!

Be still for we know who holds our tomorrow... the One who guides us today. Remember, the knowing is in the stillness.
